Setup your Marlin Link
Deploying Marlin requires five core steps.
Step 1 — Connect hardware
- Connect recorder Ethernet outputs (Porpoise / Orca) to Marlin Link.
- Up to three recorders may be connected simultaneously.
- Ensure power and ethernet cables are properly fitted.
Step 2 — Power the systems
Marlin Link is a separate system and must be powered independently from recorders.
| Device | Input Voltage Range |
|---|---|
| Porpoise | 6.5 – 26V |
| Orca | 12.6 – 26V |
| MARLIN Link | 8 – 36V |
Ensure all devices are powered within their specified ranges.
Then:
- Power the recorder(s).
- Power the Marlin Link.
- Confirm 4G (or configured comms) connectivity on the Marlin Portal (See “Access the Marlin Portal” for more).
Once active, Marlin begins transmitting:
- Audio (
.flac) - GPS (
.gps) - Detection (
